Conscious Sedation Dentistry
Conscious sedation dentistry is recommended for patients who have dental phobia. These patients choose not to remember anything from their medication. It is beneficial for those who needs to dental surgeries but do not want to recollect what has been done during the process. Basically, for the oral administered sedation, it is done by making the patient take a pill one hour prior to the appointment to the dentist. Of course, by the time the patient arrives at the clinic, he or she will be very drowsy. During this state, the patient is awake and is able to answer all the questions posed by the dentist but he or she is in a very relaxed state. To aid relaxation, headphones are given to the patient. It is contrasted to general anesthesia since in the latter; the person will be completely unconscious. Throughout the procedure, the pulse oximeter is used to monitor the vital signs. Upon the end of the processes done and awakening, one cannot remember any of the procedures done. Conscious Sedation Dentistry

cosmetic dentistry porcelain veneers

Cosmetic Dentistry Porcelain Veneers
The cosmetic dentistry porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain applied to the front of the teeth to improve the surface color or to fix discoloration and to correct cracked or crooked teeth. Although there are other types of veneers available in the market, the porcelain veneers are usually preferred due to two reasons. First, porcelain veneers create a very similar and natural tooth appearance. Since they are glass like in nature, they are also translucent compared to the other techniques. When bonded, it directly imitates the capability of the enamel to handle light.  Second, porcelain veneers resist staining. For people who have the habit of drinking coffee, tobacco, or tea, they are more prone to discoloration. And since porcelain is ceramic, the surface covered would be resistant to stains caused by these products. Cosmetic Dentistry Porcelain Veneers

dental implant failure

Dental Implant Failure
Dental implant failure occurs due to several reasons. There are instances wherein a person with several implants may have one of them unsuccessful. These can be because of dental implant rejection or improperly situated implant. Since the material used for the process is titanium, it is basically safe and effective to be used. The source of the contamination may be from the factory where it has been stored or made although the company has followed all the guidelines of the FDA. Also, the infection may happen during the process even if the dentist is particular to sanitation practices. Often, the failure is shown shortly after the procedure is done. The signs of failure can be bleeding and excessive discomfort. If the implant fails to attach and the bone rejected it, then it must be removed and another implant must be placed. The reasons for the rejection may be surgical trauma and lack of healthy bone for stability of the implant or allergies.
